Mountain Biking: An extensive network of old logging roads and connecting trails in the area provide a diversity of riding options. Mountain bike trails designated by the U.S. Forest Service is close proximity to Bailey are described below:

> Buffalo Creek Mountain Bike Area - 11 ride options range from 1 to 10 miles in length. From U.S. Highway 285 in Bailey, take County Road 68 southeast to ?Forest Road 560.

> Crow Gulch - from U.S. 285 take Country Road 43 north to Saddlestring Road, Turn left and drive to FR101. Park just beyond the Forest Service gate and begin riding south on FR101. At the first fork in the road, ride left up Crow Gulch (5.5 miles, moderate) or right up Slaughterhouse Gulch (8.5 miles, difficult).

> Shawnee - Moderate. Park on Main Street in Bailey and ride 5.5 miles to Shawnee to County Road 64 (across the river).

Hiking and Horse Trails:
Lost Creek Wilderness Area - forest Trails 637 and 607 provide across for foot and horse traffic west of Bailey on CR 64. The Colorado Trail (#1776) and trail 663 enter Lost Creek Wilderness from CR 68/FR 560 southeast of Bailey.

Mount Evans Wilderness Area - 3 Trails (#603,604 and 636) provide access into the Mount Evans Wilderness Area north of U.S. 285 on Country Road 43 (above Deer Creek and Meridian Campgrounds).

Fishing Areas
North Fork of the South Platte River - Public access at various points along U.S. 285 west of Bailey.

Headwater Streams - Deer Creek above Deer Creek campground on Country Road 43, Craig Creek along the Colorado Trail (#1776) west of FR 560, Buffalo Creek at Buffalo Campground on FR 560.

Camping
Deer Creek and Meridian Campground - 30 sites, vault toilets, drinking water, North of U.S. 285 on County Road 43.

Green Mountain, Buffalo, Tramway nad Baldy Campgrounds - 61 sites collectively, vault toilets, some with drinking water. Take County Road 68 southeast of Bailey FR 560 pas Wellington Lake to these campgrounds.
